Bike Rentals Arkansas River Trail

Arkansas River Trail

The Arkansas River Trail (ART) is a system of trails that runs along the Arkansas River in Little Rock, Arkansas. The trail is multi-use, meaning that it is open to hikers, bikers, and runners. The trail is also accessible to people with disabilities, making it a great option for all types of outdoor enthusiasts.

The map below includes our featured routes on the Arkansas River Trail with our favorite being the route highlighted in purple. Guests can ride bicycles to Big Dam Bridge and even to our boathouse location at River Mountain Park all from our downtown bike shop. Keep reading past our map to get more details about our featured trails and points of interest located along the ART.

Need a refreshment or snack along the way? Stop by our boathouse at River Mountain Park for cold water, ice cream and beautiful views of the Little Maumelle River. Another great pit stop for snacks and beverages is the club house at North Shore Golf Range, marked by the blue route from Cooks Landing on the North Little Rock Side of the Big Dam Bridge.

The purple route takes cyclists along the northern side of the Arkansas River Trail. This route takes one through seven different parks and is almost entirely on a dedicated, paved, bike and pedestrian trail. It features several restroom and water stops, scenic overlooks, mountain bike trailheads, and even a WWII-era submarine! We recommend this route to riders of all ages and abilities. The Broadway Bridge is the easiest route to cross the river Due to I-30 construction. Rebuilt in 2017, it features beautiful views and a safe 16-foot wide separated bike/pedestrian facility. You will encounter trail detours and car traffic if you attempt to cross the Clinton Pedestrian Bridge to the east.

The blue route  on the Little Rock side in front of the Dillard’s Department Store Headquarters on Highway 10 is hard to follow, not as scenic, and unsafely placed on a sidewalk. This section, between Rebsamen Park and the Barring Cross Train Bridge, should only be used by people who are confident riding in automotive traffic. While our guests are welcome to ride anywhere, almost everyone that takes this route wishes they had ridden on the other side of the river. We are hopeful that this section will soon be updated to allow for usage by people of all types and confidence levels.

*We do not recommend riding on the Little Rock side of the Arkansas River Trail.
